Story behind the scenes- Ten years ago I was approached by a friend to open a daycare. I work full time, so this meant I had to have a director and staff so with the help of my family and friends, Lillie's Childcare and Learning Center was opened. Where did the name come from? As I was thinking about what to name the business, one person continually came to my mind. Lillie was my grandmother. She loved all children, she loved all people. I have never met a woman as strong as she was. She taught my siblings and I ethics, chores, how to respect all while showing us how to enjoy life and what creative play meant. Derek, my brother is special needs and required much care. He loved grandma Taitt and she loved him back! She lived to be 97 years of age and never stopped a day in her life helping others. I named the daycare after my grandma Lillie. Every child deserves to have the care the way she took care of everyone. This is the standard we operate our daycare by.
